The Paprocanskie Lake is a beautifully situated body of water. Its location, in the neighborhood of an abundant forest with numerous paths, makes it possible to organize walking and cycling trips. On the south shore you will notice a historic 19th century duke’s Shooting Lodge Promnice, built in an interesting architectural style. The lake abounds in fish, which attracts many keen anglers to us. Each year, anglers competitions are held on the shores of the lake. Closer to the city there is an attractive recreational center. On its grounds one will find a sandy bathing beach, guarded in summer. Next to the beach one can rent recreation equipment (kayaks, water bikes). We also invite parents with their children to spend some time on a colorful playground. Teenagers will probably be interested to play on volleyball and basketball fields. Sports and recreation outdoor events, fairs and concerts are also very popular. The complex includes fields that can be used for different sports disciplines. The main football pitch is grass-covered, its dimensions are: 96 m x 62 m. The grandstand consists of 420 seats. The surface of the beach football or volleyball field is covered in sand; it dimensions are: 28 m / 20 m. An additional multi-functional field (dimensions: 30 m / 33 m is covered with artificial turf. You can play football or volleyball matches there. Tennis trainings are held on two artificial turf courts. We invite you to use our pitches the whole week, from 7:00 a.m. till dusk. We would be grateful if you would talk to the facility manager to make your reservation for the fields in advance. The original interiors of a former chapel exhibit a collection of beer mugs, barrels, bottles and brewing tools and are aided by the latest exhibition solutions. A 3D movie brings the Guests back to the times of the first beer brewers, and touch panels with movies, photos and presentations enhance the visitors’ knowledge. | | | Zagroda Zubrów (Bison Center) in Pszczyna (25 km away from the hotel)
Only a few hundred meters from the Old Town of Pszczyna you can meet... a bison. You will get such an opportunity visiting the Bison Center which was created in the historic part of the park called ‘Zwierzyniec'. On almost 10 ha, 2 pens were built with their infrastucture such as a quarantine pen and fodder storehouses. The animals can be seen from a viewing area which is also accessible to disabled people by lift. In the Bison Center you can also see other animals: moufflons, deer, fallow deer and roe deer. Inside the educational building you can learn about the flora and fauna of the region of Pszczyna. You will surely be impressed by a 3D movie about bisons. We invite you to visit the Bison Center. The biggest and the oldest Polish planetarium was created in 1955 to commemorate the great Polish astronomer Nicolas Copernicus. It was equipped with projectors placed under a 23-meter dome which functions as the screen of artificial sky. On the hemispheral screen we can see the sky looked at at any time and from any place on Earth. Moving projectors of the Sun, Moon and planets show all changes on the day and night sky related to different phenomena on Earth and in its neighborhood. Silesia City Center in Katowice is a very modern urban-type center which fulfills commercial, entertainment and socio-cultural functions. It was created in one year on the premises of a former coal mine. It is possible to see the grounds and buildings of former camps: Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II Birkenau. The duration of the visit varies depending on visitors’ individual interests and needs, however, the minimum time necessary to see the grounds and exposition of the former camp is about 3,5 hours.
